If you are rushing to catch a flight at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Indonesia be warned that budget carriers Citilink and Jetstar Asia Airways have moved their international flights from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2F.

The two airlines changed terminals on may 14 and 15 joining six other low-cost carriers operating from Terminal 2F: AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Lion Air, Thai Lion, Malindo, and Tiger Scoot.
Managed by state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II, Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has been designed specifically to cater to budget carriers, forgoing basic amenities such as air-conditioning, in addition to duty-free shops, baggage handling, and air bridges.
Muhammad Awaluddin, CEO of Angkasa Pura II, said the move of Citilink and Jetstar Asia will allow the airport to expand its connectivity and market share, especially in the budget-airline sector. “The budget-airline sector is growing rapidly across the world, including Southeast Asia, and Soekarno-Hatta is ready to seize a share of that market”, he said.
Until passengers become familiar with the new arrangements shuttle buses will be used to ferry passengers who go to the wrong terminal to the correct one, with Febri Toga Simatupang, senior manager of branch communication at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport advising passengers to “try to get to the airport two hours before departure time”.
Terminal 2F is currently being renovated to allow non-ticket holders to enter the terminal up to the immigration check point., however, non-ticket holders can only currently enter as far as the first security point.
Budget airline passengers accounted for about 30 per cent of the 15.5 million international passengers who passed through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport last year. In the first quarter of 2019 passenger numbers increased by 2 per cent year-on-year to 1.34 million.
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the ninth-busiest airport in Asia, last year serving some 66.9 millions passengers, more than 1.4 million more than Singapore and some three million more than Suvarnabhumi Airport, in Bangkok, Thailand.
