Young artists throughout Asean have until August 5 to enter the Mission of the European Union to Asean’s ‘Our Planet, Our Future’, Asean youth drawing competition.

Open to artists between the ages of 16 and 24 who are citizens of one of the 10 Asean member nations, the competition challenges entrant’s to express their creative ideas through a colourful drawing, with the objective being to inspire others to help safeguard the planet.
Organised to mark World Environment Day on June 5, artists are invited to depict ‘what comes to your mind when you reflect on your concerns and solutions for climate change’.
Entries should illustrate potential solutions, rather than a catastrophic representation of the issue, the organisers say.
Competition rules require entrants to submit ‘unpublished and unproduced’ original works, with each entrant able to submit a maximum of three entries, which must be the sole work of the entrant; collaboration or group entries are not permitted. Only the first 500 artworks will be accepted.
Winners of the ‘Our Planet, Our Future’ drawing competition will be announced on August 26, 2020, with judging to be based on adherence to the theme and interpretation of its concept, creativity, and composition. Entries must be submitted by email.
While not particularly descriptive, the first place winner will receive ‘a laptop’, the second and third placegetters ‘a tablet’, while those who finish between fourth and twelfth will each receive ‘a smart watch’.
