Regional management consulting firm SRW&Co is teaming up with the University of Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) for the eighth consecutive year to offer its Asean Global Leadership Programme (AGLP).
To take place in England between October 15 and 19 the AGLP provides an opportunity for regional senior executives to further develop their skills across multiple topics vital for those doing business in the rapidly changing global market, at one of the oldest seats of learning in the world.
To be conducted this year under the theme of ‘Transforming Asean Organisations: The Leadership Imperative’, the five-day long programme will bring together business leaders from across Southeast Asia to exchange knowledge and ideas to address challenges and opportunities in the context of the Asean Economic Community (AEC).
Daniel Wong, chairman and partner of SRW&Co., said, “we are witnessing dynamic changes and development in the Asean region against the context of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) and the challenges and opportunities faced by the leaders in the region. The four key themes of this programme: globalisation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership are very relevant to Asean leaders in both the corporate and public sectors”.
Harold Chee, academic programme director at UCJBS, said the AGLP enables participants to ‘experience some of the cutting-edge thinking from distinguished Cambridge Judge Business School faculty and contributors situated in one of the world’s most prestigious research universities; with a reputation as a centre for rigorous thinking and high impact transformative education.’
According to Mr Chee, ‘a major challenge for leaders today is the lack of time to think and do things differently, and yet their organisations need to transform in the face of radical environmental changes. Top management need to empower the organisation and engage in exploring new ideas and business practices by developing an innovative and learning culture. This lies at the very core of the design of our unique programme.’
As part of its commitment to support executive education in Southeast Asia, SRW&Co., in collaboration with the Asean Business Advisory Council (ABAC), in 2016 launched the AGLP Scholarship. The scholarship is granted to selected winners of the ABAC Asean Business Awards (ABAs) that have the potential of becoming global economic players.
Last year’s winners, Nasha Jungkankul from Thailand who established Kunna Groceries Co., and Sirina Sisombat Hervy from Lao PDR who founded Sinouk Coffee, will travel to the USA in April to participate in a one week AGLP at New York University’s STERN School of Business.
