Savannakhet provincial authorities in cooperation with the Heritage Department of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism are planning to restore the That Nang Lao stupa at a cost of more than 3 billion kip.

Planned north-south transport road links encounter delays
The government has devised a strategy to build roads parallel to and east of the country’s main arterial highway, Road No. 13, to provide faster north-south transport links.
The new routes would facilitate the transport of crops, attract more trade and investment and spur development in rural areas with higher levels of poverty.

Ambassador Rena Bitter made opening remarks at the first-ever Lao Digital Forum held on January 26.
The Forum focused on the global digital economy revolution and its potential benefits for microenterprises and Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Laos, as well as the policy environment needed to harness the benefits of the digital economy.
