It took just four minutes for Thai health tech startup OOCA to impress the judges enough to earn a place in the semi-finals of the Investible Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (OTEC) in Kunming, China, later this month.

OOCA managed to outshine and out-pitch ten other Thai startups who took part in the Investible OTEC pitch day for Thai entrepreneurs  last Friday (May 3) at HUBBA-TO, a 24-hour co-working space in On Nut, Bangkok..

A telemental health platform available on on iOs, Android, and web-app, OOCA is aimed at assisting people in the community with mental health issues by matching them with suitable service providers. The OOCA app offers online video-call counselling and appointment scheduling with high levels of security and privacy control.

A media statement issued by Investible said the judges selected OOCA as Thailand’s most innovative startup due to its founding team, market traction, and ability to scale technology into new markets based on the Invisibility Index. Clean energy startup UB Save Hybrid Aerator came a close second”, the report said.

Kanpassorn Suriyasangpetch, a founder of OOCA, will receive flights and accommodation to participate in the 2019 OTEC semi finals between May 28 and 30, along with the opportunity to meet some of China’s top venture capitalists. Participants will also take part in peer-to-peer networking with other exceptional global startups, and have a one-on-one investment meeting with Investible’s investment team.
