Young videographers throughout Asean will have to work quick if they want to submit entries in this year’s ASEAN Youth Video Contest, with first round  submissions closing on March 5.

Announced during the week, the fifth edition of the competition will focus on the theme ‘Renewable Energy: Powering ASEAN’s Bright Future’ and comprises two parts.

For the first part of the contest entrants are required to submit a video up to 60-seconds long based on the theme. Videos should be in English, or if created in a local language, have English subtitles.

Submitted entries will be vetted by a ‘Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC), with the top 10 finalists announced on March 15.

The ten finalists — one person only if a team entry — will then be flown to Hanoi, Vietnam for a four-day video production training workshop at the Media Training Centre of Vietnam Journalists Association (VJTC). There they will begin working on their final two-minute video submissions, the second part of the competition.
