00:37 | Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Ormsin Chivapruck, has asked those attending the royal funeral of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to be respectful when taking pictures and sharing information online. Meanwhile, the First Army Area has chaired a workshop on the wearing of 16 traditional uniforms by officials involved in royal funeral processions to ensure age-old traditions are maintained.

01:43 | NBT is broadcasting a special TV programme to mark the one year anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s death each weekday during the month of October between 1.30pm and 2.00pm. The programme contains information and updates on the royal funeral ceremony and a compilation of the late King’s work.

02:53 | The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has instructed the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) to prepare free shuttles buses to transport visitors to Sanam Luang for the royal funeral. For mourners outside of Bangkok the Transport Company will reduce its bus fares by 20 per cent between October 19-30. At the same time the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will provide 262 train trips on the cremation day, while people traveling by boat on the Chao Phraya River and along Saen Saeb Canal will be transported for free between 6am and 7 pm on cremation day, October 26.

17:55 | The Department of Land Transport (DLT) has announced its plan to renovate all public transport stations across the country to adhere to service standards as part of the government’s 20-year blueprint for operating and developing public transport stations. The project will start with five stations and is expected to finish early next year.

19:27 | The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) has become a member of the National Credit Bureau (NCB). According to TCGC manager, Nithit Manunphon, this cooperation will help increase the opportunity for SMEs’ to borrow from financial institutions. The details of more than 200,000 SMEs will be added to the NCBs database helping to improve risk management.
