00:40 | A representative of King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has given ‘piggy banks’ to 88 students from Wang Klai Kang Won School, who have spent their days-off this year working in local state offices as interpreters to assist foreigners.

01:36 | Thais nationwide continue to volunteer to undertake various activities to honour the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Meanwhile, 41 Thai nationals living in Vienna, Austria have attended the Royal Thai Embassy there  to register their names for eight volunteer activities. Volunteers can register for the activities until September 20.

02:57 | Thais from across the country are building replicas of the royal crematorium, which are to be completed ahead of the royal cremation in October 26. The replica in Nakhon Ratchasima Province is expected to be completed on October 15, while in Chumphon Province, construction is expected to conclude on October 8.

04:35 | Deputy prime minister, General Prawit Wongsuwan, has denied an allegation by the by the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) that the government or National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is interfering in the judicial system. His denial comes  ahead of the Supreme Court’s reading of its verdict on September 27 in the two-year rice trial of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

05:51 | Deputy prime minister, Dr Wissanu Krea-ngam, said today that the next Cabinet retreat is scheduled for Suphan Buri and Ayutthaya Provinces on September 18 and 19, which will focus on water management, rice, and tourism issues.

07:12 | President of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA), Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, has officially opened a special event that feature six communities in Bangkok’s Kadeejeen neighborhood, where residents adhere to different religions but live together without any conflict. He suggested that this neighborhood should be promoted as a cultural tourism destination.

10:53 | Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, said the government plans to increase tourism revenue by 10 per cent in 2018, targeting an annual revenue of Bt3.03 trillion (about US$90.5 million) by focusing on quality activities, that are aimed to prolong each tourist’s stay in Thailand.

12:40 | The Teachers’ Council of Thailand has organized an academic seminar to promote the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy. Education Minister, Teerakiat Jareonsettasin, urged education institutions to integrate the ‘Thailand 4.0’ agenda into their curricula.

13:43 | The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) is organising a community product fair between September 12 and 14 at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex. The fair is expected to attract more than 300 small-and-medium enterprises and aims to familiarise the public with the government’s digital economy policies.
