00:41 | Deputy prime minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn has announced the opening of the royal crematorium containing various exhibitions to the public. The royal crematorium will remain open between 7am-10pm until November 30 and can accommodate up to 5,000 visitors at a time. Previously announced dress codes for visiting the royal crematorium have been abolished.

02:03 | Thais from across the country are continuing to pay their respects to the ashes of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram. The temple is open daily between 6am and 9pm.

02:58 | Thailand Post offices across the country are now accepting reservation for commemorative pins to mark the royal cremation of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Some 10,000 pins were ordered at the Government House Post Office within the first hour of bookings being taken.

National identification cards must be presented when ordering the Bt300 (about US$9) pins, with the previous limit of two per person having been abolished. Pins can be collected one month after ordering.

19:32 | Tang Qifang, associate research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) has told a seminar titled ‘Connecting Asia: Opportunity for Pragmatic Cooperation between Thailand and China’, that the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development zone is a strategic location for promoting trade between Thailand and China, and integral to the latter’s One Belt and One Road (OBOR) initiative.

Moreover, he disclosed that a high-speed rail line and roadway linking the EEC to China will be built under the OBOR initiative in a bid to further boost logistics efficiency.
