• Authorities in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat are urgently expediting rehabilitation of flood hit areas in the province. To date ten of 99 totally destroyed homes have been rebuilt, 200 partially destroyed homes have been repaired, with a 170 homes still being worked on.

• The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) subcommittee charged with reconciliation has held meetings with four more Thailand political parties as part of its national reconciliation efforts on Thailand’s ‘path to democracy.’

• Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan has instructed all relevant government agencies to ramp up detection and apprehension efforts against copyright violations in the Kingdom as Thailand seeks to remove itself from the US copyright Priority Watchlist.

• Thailand Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn has opened Smart Startup 2017, a platform for Thai companies wanting to take advantage of the Thailand 4.0 development plan, with a focus on bringing startups and SMEs together.

• NBT Newsline provides a look inside the Thailand FinTech sector at the recent SEC FinTech Day. Thailand FinTech developers are urged to contact the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for information on participating in the sector.

• Fabric from six Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS) countries are on display at GMS Fabric Expo 2017, opened yesterday by Deputy Prime Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn, as part of the Udon Thani Thung Si Muang festival which runs until February 25.
