0:39 | Thais across the country continue to take part in activities, particularly flower making projects, in preparation for the royal funeral of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, with residents in Yala Province taking part in an activity titled ‘one flower for the love of father’ as a show of love to the late King. Approximately 82,000 flowers have been produced in Yala Province alone since the commencement of the project over two months ago.

2:04 | Minister of Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul on Sunday prepared a green papaya salad (som tum) which was later sold for Bt15,000 to aid flood victims during the opening ceremony of a food fair at a department store in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

3:08| Nakhon Si Thammarat Province has purchased 50 pumping machines and 50 river thrusters to deal with flooding as torrential rains continue in the southern provinces situations. Irrigation officers said they will keep the water in Pak Phanang Canal one meter below the embankments. Meanwhile Highway 401 which runs from Kapong district to Phanom district has been closed indefinitely after being destroyed by a heavy thunderstorm.

Measures available include the postponement of annual financial statements, the postponement of business registration. More than 32,000 businesses in ten provinces, most of whom are construction companies, are reportedly registered.

5:07 | Deputy Prime Minister, Wissanu Krea-ngam has said that a 34 member entity responsible for the implementation of national strategies will be formed this month following the promulgation of the National Strategies Act, B.E. 2560, published in the Royal Gazette on July 31st and becoming law on August 1, 2017. This  entity will appoint 11 subcommittees comprising at least 140 members in September.

6:08 | Constitutional Drafting Commission (CDC) spokesman Norachit Sinhaseni said yesterday that the CDC has decided that members of parliament who fail to cast their votes without any proper reason will be subject to immediate ban/removal, and be prevented from running for any office or becoming a member of any state organisation for two years.

09:46 | Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan has ordered the police, army, and other related government units to increase collaboration to arrest and process influential figures behind Thailand’s illegal drugs and firearms trade.

12:12 | Nine out of 24 celebrities who are facing charges of ‘indirect advertisement’ of alcohol by posting photographs of alcoholic beverages on their Instagram accounts have reported to the Royal Thai Police (RTP). Authorities are waiting for the remaining 15 to come forward and acknowledge the charges.

13:24 | Asean foreign affairs ministers attending the 50th Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM 50) in Manila released a statement on Saturday requesting the North Korean (DPRK) government to halt its’ nuclear development programme following a recent intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test. The statement was released ahead of the Asian Regional Forum (ARF) set to take place in Manila on Monday, which the DPRK’s Foreign Affairs Minister is due to attend.
