01:08 | Newsline looks at the death one year ago today of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, aged 88, after a rule reigning more than 70 years.

11:47 | Guidelines for people wishing to lay sandalwood flowers during the royal funeral ceremony have been released by the Joint Operations Command (JOC) for the royal funeral. Of 85 royal crematorium replicas being constructed around the country 65 are complete and the remainder will be finished by October 15. Additionally, 649 sandalwood flower laying stations have been completed, with an additional 153 nearing completion. Approximately 61 million sandalwood flowers have been collected so far.

15:44 | Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha has called for a thorough public hearing of any law that the Constitution requires be conducted. The instructions came during a meeting with a number of ministers focusing on legal issues and economic affairs.

16:39 | Meechai Ruchupan, chairman of the Constitutional Drafting Commission (CDC), said the commission is ready to adjust the draft law on anti-corruption if there are any reasonable suggestions requiring changes.

19:22 | A study undertaken by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) has found that Thailand’s informal debt is at its lowest level in a decade. The survey, conducted earlier this year, found that 91 per cent of respondents still have debt, most of which was accumulated through general spending.

Average Thai household debt is put at Bt299,266 (about US$9,052), up 0.4 per cent on 2016, the lowest rate of increase in 10 years, with 26.4 per cent sourced from informal borrowing sources, the smallest proportion in 10 years.
